    Food for the weekend,

Each person brings what every they would like to eat, your charcoal or wood and drinks. No special arrangement's are planned.

I got no idea of what the camping area looks like but I'm sure that we will be able to braai together.

Remember to bring lots of snacks to snack on while doing the trail.

Please remember that there is no power in the camping area so bring your gas lamp if you have one.

12 sleeps to go and I still have to finish my setup in SMYlie

Is this weekend open to outsiders I have 2 mates with Defenders who are keen to join us, I will check to see if there is space at the site still but do you guys have any issues with others joining not on the forum.

I am passing my parents this afternoon to collect all my gas equipment and other camping gear to check and make sure it is all in good working order. All I need is to get to 3 provinces with a Gas light that is shot, an axe that is blunt, and a tent with holes.

My mom always told me never to wish time by as it soon goes too fast, I have tried to live my life to that standard BUT sometimes like now when I am getting very excited about this trip would really like to get there now.

@ 90 inches, I have got plans to go to either Hennops or De Wildt (As recommended by Flagster) to get a feel for 4x4 and and to just have a little fun.

Counting down the days with out wishing the time away ..... Ye Right I want to be in the mountains now never mind in 12 days.

No problem. As mentioned before there will be more than enough skill and experience to assist.

Best is to give Ronel / Herman a call: 082 785 8002 / 017 735 5286 and see if there is still space available.

    Sorry for the late replay.

All I can suggest is to join one of the "GTG's" in your area or one of the West Gauteng functions and make some friends. Wendy and I normally travel with our two boys but I'm sure that there will be willing drivers that will let you drive around with them whether it is a weekend or a day trip.

    Hope this helps

Thanks Flagster, and I will enforce the No Booze on route rule. these guys are however a very small group of my friends that are not very big drinkers to start with so I should be able to enforce this rule easily.

I do understand why the rule and will make certain it is kept.

    thanks
