Gentlemen I see you guys now talking about recovery gear, I DONT HAVE ANY what do i need to get for this weekend give me the essentials. if I have a mate that manufactures webbing tape and products from webbing would he be able to make up any of my recovery gear for me.
Driving a Landie boet, You need it all. Sell your house and buy some recovery gear. It will be a very good investment.

Damn, I'm going to get it. Soooo many Landie drivers. At least the Isuzu should be faster on the tar.

    Thanks Guys
Getting stuck is all part of the fun. That is the only way you learn your vehicles limitations.

THIS IS NOT GOOD. Rain and camping will surely scare the SWAMBO, (It think) will also mean this novice will be S*#t scared to do most of the obstacles, water and mud are scary things. Not backing off but am making more excuses why this landy MIGHT get stuck!!! highly doubt it though its a landy after all. let hope I am right with this

    Hi Flagster

Is the trail and camp site full yet as I may be able to convince my family to come along?

I have had a 4x4 for 3 weeks now and not had the oppertunity to really go play due to sport and work etc... BUT after the last big rains in Alberton I played in mud at work which was not massive but I had a jol splashing and mud all over, so I can only imagine what fun mud on a 4x4 trail is like when covered in mud.

But I assume it is also difficult to enjoy mud with out damaging the enviroment

Yes, rain does put a damper on camping especially for the kids but yes I agree the crowd that is going is fantastic.

Mud makes it more interesting in my opinion it puts a totaly different "spin" on a trail.

About the environment, the trail that we are doing has been there for a very long time so that is not really my concern but each one has his own feeling about this one.

Frans, need I remind you THAT.......It must be noted that the Landy has recovered the Isuzu more, than the other way round.........The Isuzu has also recovered itself more that the Landy has......I keep tabs in my little black book, and also keep photos for incase somebody doubts it............The landy still needs to be recovered

Ryno, my winch might be in the market soon......took a Rokkie for a drive earlier, and Im sold on it. Gonna start advertising the Landy soon, and if/when sold, we can have a chat (please note, only when sold). It wont be able to go onto the Rok, if there is no aftermarket bumper.

    Scooter k
King, you must maybe take the Landy to a track, and do some obstacles to get to know it......could possibly save you some stress on the trail.......

Gerhard after Skim's skims to get me stuck pointing me in the wrong direction it took 4 tractors to recover the Landie eventually

Scooter, you stress way too much, there will be many experienced hands to show you the way......

As Franz said this is a very old trail well kept and looked after there will be no damage to nature I will take all my recovery gear with but do not think we will need it at all.
