    Default Fortuner Nudge Bar

Okay, so against my will I had a nudge bar fitted to my fortuner. So now I am fairly happy with it. However today, I was involved in a small fender bender.
No damage at all to both cars, but my nudge bar is now touching the bumper on the left side.
I am at work now and didnt get to check the ins and outs as to why, but I figure the the bolt at was not fastened correctly.
    Is this assumption right?
and if so isnt it supposed to be tight in a sense that it wont budge from an impact below 20Km/h?
I basically gather that if it is the bolt that is loose then I should be able to adjust it again. If not who can I go to that can make this small adjustment?

So the cosmetic nudgebars does serve a purpose in some cases. 8)

Nudge bars are not as strong as they look.

the upper mountings are adjustable and takes no efort to push it in. So you can just loosen it a bit, pull the bar away from the bumper to where you want it and tighten again.
I had same last week, thinking of a steel bumper now.

Bottom mouts are much better but still allow a bit of swivel. tighten anyway.

The nudge bars actually cause more damadge to the vehicle than the fender bender. Take is off and throw it away. It also makes your aproach angle worse.

    I beg to differ.

A young lady, in a Fiat, hit me head on.
The Fiat's front end was demolished with bonnet against the windscreen and was taken away on a flatbed.

I drove home and had to point out the damage to wife.

I had a Fortuner with a Nudgebar ride into the back of my Wrangler JK on Tuesday afternoon in peak traffic....

His nudgebar was pushed up into the grill, front left fender creased, front left light cracked, bumper broken on the front left....

My bumper has a slight, and i mean slight, kink on the plastic..

    nudge/nəj/

    Noun:A light touch or push.

Why are we debating this again?

I just fitted it cos it came for free and lets face it... the Tuna looks naked without it

LoL indeed, same here, however after fiddling around with it on sat, I realised that the entire thing is a bolt on accessory. It would have been so much better if it was welded on and if the parts that went under the bumber actually went thru' it. However I suppose thats why there are bullbars

I would have some very bad scratches/dings (expensive) if it wasen't for my nudge bar - it works for me!

Nude bar is useless! caused more damage in a fender bender I had. Did not fit it on my new Fortuner.
