Have to agree, if you look at the time stamp on the pics you can see how the unfenced camps can give you an advantage.

Hi Folks, what's the best spot to fill up and buy wood before entering the park. I know Vryburg and Kuruman are no-no's but I see an increasing amount of people saying not to stop in Upington either?

If you go via Upington there's apparently a nice Engen (with a shopping centre across from it) on the way to the park, anyone have more details for me on this one? Otherwise how about going via hotazel (R31)? Apparently there's a nice fuel station (the thatched place) as well?

    Thanks,
    Christoff

I mentioned the Engen and new shopping center in Upington The new center has Caltex.

Buy wood at either Askam filling station or at Kgalagadi lodge. We bought at both, KL's was better.

No, I don't unfortunately. But if you set your gps to Engen Upington convenience center, you cannot miss the shopping center. The Engen is in the V of the split if the N10 and the R360. The shopping center is across from it on the R360.

Anyone thinking about doing the Nossob Eco trail in March next year?

Made a booking, but can't get confirmation until another vehicle book as well...

Had to pay my camping deposito's yesterday to secure my spot in Nossob and Mata Mata for the night before and after.

Only read positive feedback about this trail, so very keen on doing it.

I don't see why not, Twee Rivieren is just down the rd.

SANParks will be allowing free entry into Kgalagadi from Sept 8 - 15 as part of their National Parks week. No quotas will be applied.

For those who have already booked there could be a fair influx of visitors. Something to bear in mind. Maybe a good idea to drive to the waterholes early morning.....
