I once read on a Pajero website that it is a permanent 4wd vehicle, with optional rwd.
I thus agree with the gents above, yes you can.
I owned 7 Pajeros in succession, but just couldn't get myself to actually run it in 4H on dry tar. Wet tar or off tar and I would grab the short stick and have it in 4H in no time at all.
I think that is the beauty of the system - it's your call.

    Mine lived in 4H (SuperSelect).

The Pajero just does not feel right in RWD.

Thanks everyone for the feedback, will definitely give it a go in 4h. I had a bad experience recently about 2 months ago on the wet road coming out of a bend, the vehicle lost traction at the rear and almost collided with a vehicle in the left lane next to me. The PS saved itself and drove straight like a arrow within a blink of a eye.

Lastly, are one restricted with km/h in 4x4 mode on the high way?

    No. No restriction.

My pajero is in 4H permanently. Can't see why the 2H option is there anyway.

I think you get the point now, but yes, my 2.5 also runs in 4H all the time. Get irretated when I pick it up from the dealer after a service and its back in 2H.

I have not noticed a significant increase in fuel efficiency either, plus it feels a bit more responsive in 4H than 2H.

Just a note for anyone reading this thread that not all the Pajero Sports had the super select, I think the 3.2 did not have it. In that case you should NOT drive in 4H because there is no unlocked center diff.

    The easiest way to tell:

Super Select: 2H, 4H, 4HLc, 4HLLc (YES, you can drive in 4H on any surface)

Typical 4wd: 2H, 4H, 4L (NO, you cannot drive in 4H on high traction surfaces)

I often drive my Gen 4 in 4H, I find it noticeably more stable. I also find when I'm heavily loaded or towing 4H is much smoother and you don't get that dip in the rear under acceleration

*EDIT Bostokkelos corrected me below, all the Pajero Sports have the super select.

Here's a question, should the guys with the latter option really be driving in 4H on the gravel roads. Straight line you are okay, but I've experimented before and I can fly through a marbled corner in 4H (unlocked center diff) on gravel, but do the same in 4H (locked center diff like normal systems) and it tends to understeer. You just don't get that feeling of it pulling you out of the corner like in the 4H (unlocked center diff).

Just correct you, All 4x4 Pajeros Sports came out with Super select. From 2009 3.2's, 2.5"s and 2.4"s till now. Its the 3.2 Tritons that came with Easy select, meaning there's no 4wd option with an open center diff. In the non Super select 3.2 Tritons when you select 4wd then its like 4HLC.

Thanks I was not aware of that, I remember this being one of the reasons I chose to look for a Gen 4 instead as I wanted the 3.2 and super select.

Well, looked around, the new shape PS is above my pay-grade, but found a 2018 Triton that might fit the bill.
I would like it in white, but buying secondhand does not provide much options.

Got convinced to try a 2016 3.2 Everest today. Lovely. The dark side is getting blurry.....

Well, here is the Triton. And I might or may not be biased, but this felt a lot more comfy that the Everest. Very plain and simple, sure, but I think I can live with the Triton for a couple of years.

Have no idea what you referring to - had my PS 2014 model since new and the indicators have an irritating loud clicking sound - beeping sound Iím not familiar with ?
