Neil - Things impossible did happen He made me do things that tuned my gut upside down - steak would not have gone down at all!
Really a good learning curve - and money well invested.

Bruce is a very good driver, one of the best & he has no fear either. But his main purpose in life to braai steaks. He's even better at that .

Did you manage to follow his Defender?

Ehoffmann gave us good and positive feedback. It is good to know that the training helped him and that he found it worth his while.
I am also very very proud of Mr.Hofmann

    That I am... definitely.
I think he knew if I got stuck - I would have left the truck right there and walked home

I am confident that I understand why to do what and when - which means my vehicle is safer in my hands now. Which is kind of half the reason doing a course - safe driver, safe vehicle.
Hi what was the cost for the day?

R2000 for a one on one training day. Includes theory which was very good - and practical - which was very necessary for me. I had a couple of hurdles to overcome and he made very sure to attend to those. When I just about had a heart attack - he gently took me thru it all - me swearing like a trooper to keep my wits together I wouldnt mind doing another day with him as the one on one training I think is very important.

Seems expensive, especially when compared with http://www.4x4community.co.za/forum/...27#post3015727

While I can't comment on other training courses - I can tell you this was worth every single cent to me.
I am prepared to pay for someone's time - and I also consider what I charge for my services (day rate)
I didn't find it expensive at all. I do understand though that we all have different priorities and different pockets.

I'm just saying that Activity Zone gives one-on-one instruction in your vehicle. TeamOffRoad gave two days of classroom training to just two guys, an obstacle course in your vehicle and a day at the Atlantis Dunes, but you're right. It's your money. Spend it how you wish. My comment was just that it seemed expensive.

I really do get your point

And it is good that people have different options - this is why there is a forum like this so we can share ideas, advice, comments and whatnot.

Not sure if this is geared especially for Ford, but seemed integrated.

    Hi

Can anyone Recommend someone in the Garden Route ( Plet, Knysna, George ) that can do a days course. I am a novice when it comes to 4x4 but would like to get an overview of things. Would also like to use my own vehicle if possible.

    Thank you

I know this is an oldish thread, but it will always be a relevant topic. My wife and I did the one day training session with Bruce this week and it was informative, challenging and fun. Bruce took time to find out exactly where we were at and what we wanted to be able to do. Best of all was doing the practical stuff in our own vehicle with Bruce on board - a real eye-opener and confidence builder in our vehicle's capabilities and its finer points. Absolutely worth it!
