Default 4x4 Training - Northern Cape

Please post reply if you have details of 4x4 training facilities in this province.
This thread is not for the discussion of the facilities, but to act as a directory listing to find them!
Discussion to be restricted to the main 4x4 training forum.

Hi guys... Is there anyone in the Northern Cape region who can give myself, hubby and my son advanced 4X4 driving lessons... We did e-mail a few companies but it seems if you don't book for a whole group your money seems to be useless, and not worth while. Can someone please help us? We just bought a Land Rover (1 series) just to play around with... but need help. Thanks a million, hope to hear from someone soon.. Lydia.

    Hi Lydia

This is from my perspective not as straight forward as what you asked for. You are asking for advanced training? Have you guys completed the entry level training? What is your level of experience?

I would like to suggest that you consider doing the Unit Standard based training whereby you go through an officially recognized training program on entry as well as advanced level. On completion and when found to be competent measured against the US's you receive a driver competency certificate. You can contact me at [email protected] or 0824559713 to discuss.

Apologies for poking an old thread: is anyone able to suggest options in Upington (in February 2019).

We are effectively 4x4 novices looking for basic training/familiarity.

    Thanks

It is going to be a hire car, allegedly FORD RANGER TDCI XL 4X4, or similar.

Unless I am very much mistaken the answer on a Ford Ranger is "not".

We are aiming at KTP - we were there in a Fiesta (!) last year but fortunately had a tow rope with us that was used a couple of times. We are hoping in 2019 to be more self-sufficient! Mainly we are looking for some hand-holding help to drive into our first "sand-pit". We have some 4x4 training in the UK before we fly but the nature of things means that is 99.99% likely to be mud, not sand!

The best 4x4 is a rental, so the Fiesta did well. Where will you be picking the vehicle up?

In Upington. (To save costs we wont take the 4x4 for the rest of our holiday, which will be on normal roads.)
