Default Isuzu Models over the years

The one that started it all. Mid 70s Originally sold as the Chevy LUV, and later renamed to it's proper name. The Isuzu Samurai

    Current Model: The DTeq series

    2004-2007 model: DMax series

2002/03 Model KB300tdi. Same shape as the 280, but 3l engine with intercooler with scoop on the bonnet

The last KB280 '97-2002, and the end of what started the whole Turbo Diesel era in South Africa. Different grill and lights to the earlier model.

The '94 -'96 KB280DT. The start of the leganday KB280TurboDiesel....and arguebly the first successful double cab

The followup from the Samurai in the 80s...Several facelifts, but in essence it stayed this model up to the '93 new model

I'll add more as I find good pics. If you've got, email me...

That's the "new" facelifted D-Teq or also know as the 72 series D-Teq. Only minor cosmetics changes such as the mags, grill, but it has electronically folding mirrors (nice for use during the Fundi Challenge) where the previos D-Teq's and D-Max's only has the normal electric adjusting mirrors.

Sakkie, if I'm not mistaken the very last 280 looked exactly like the first 300s. It just didn't have the scoop on the bonnet.

    Hi Sakkie,
Thank you for this post. I am sure it has cleared up a vague area of uncertainty for many like me who are relatively new to Isuzu.

    This model

Facelift with rectangular headlamps shown and the pre facelift with round head lamps fits in between Swys' KB (aka Chevy LUV) and the last one posted by Sakkie. I had both the 1.9 and 2.2 Diesels.

Wicd, the problem with the first TD's were caused by the mecchies at the agents that thought they could increase performance by adjusting the diesel pump pressure, IIRC.
