    Default Bush lapa's "miskruier" tested

I will be collecting my Miskruier this Saturday morning. As I type this email, Jannie (owner of Bush Lapa) is busy adding the final touches. I cannot wait . I was fortunate to see my camping buddy’s Miskruier in action on our 2 week trip from Cape Town to Swaziland to Mozambique and then back trough Transkei and Eastern Cape – 5,200 km’s in total. We hit some bad roads, some with mostly pot holes with some spots of tar. I was driving at the back and at times that Miskruier was completely airborne . We had no incidents – besides the Prado towing the Miskruier getting stuck in thick sand in Moz (our own fault for not letting the tires down far enough). That and a jar of garlic that lost its lid in the grocery cupboard of the Miskruier. Eeeuw, that smell . Other than that, a very capable trailer perfect for quick 1 night stops – easy to pitch. Had quite a bit of rain in Moz – no leaking issues or dust penetration. We only pitched the L shape awning for the 4 day stint in Moz. It was easy to put up and folds away in the bag on the roof. The bag also contains all the poles as well. We did not take along the side panels for this trip.

The checkered plate floor was apparently rough on bare feet with the -7 degrees we experienced in Kimberley on our way to Moz – nothing a cheap Kimberley PEP Stores carpet could not solve. Even with cloud cover and camping under thick trees in Moz for 4 days, the 110W solar panel kept the batteries full with a 80L National Luna and lights running off it.

Almost lost my breakfast with this exercise

Moz ferry – picture taken before they loaded a lot more vehicles, boxes of live chickens, building material and many, many humans.

    Default Miskruier

    Congrats Kooskop,

I envy you. I went to the factory on a recent trip to CT as this is exactly what I was looking for a few years ago. Not finding anything, I then built my own and hoping to use it the first weekend in August.

The Miskruier in my opinion has the best workmanship of all trailers I have looked at. Nice to see someone still taking pride in their work.

Daai koskas is GROOT. Ek kon my rooster, 2 x tongs, blitz, jaffle pan, blaasbalk, gasstoof se windskerm, byl, groot snybord, pop-up vuilgoeddrom ens. maklik daar inpas en daar is nog plek.

Lyk my roof racks op die bakkie is my voorland.
