Default Drowned lexus 470 and toyota LC

Took swambo, my laaitie and a mate and is girlfriend out to terelej national park about 1&1/2 hrs from the capital of mongolia (ulaanbataar) yesterday and boy did we have some fun.
The scenery around that area was stunning to say the least, anyway having absorbed the views we decided to head down to the river and wet a line as well as to get the braai going.
Crossed a few smaller streams to get down to the main tributary without incident even through the water was about 1meter deep.
then we arrived at what appeared to be deeper water and we took the wise option of scouting ahead a (good move there) even though the water was freezing we checked out a few approaches and decided that it was a better idea to stay on our side of the river .
Braai started etc and lo and behold along comes the lexus without a pause the lady driver tackles the crossing and sinks the lexus.
with no recovery gear in my work bakkie (ford everest) i none the less offered to assist, the drivers friend luckily had a steel cable (not the best and frankly quite dangerous) but we went ahead with the recovery
the recovery went off with some minor hitches but was successful none the less.
anyway then we thought that this was the end of the sports for the day but lo and behold about 2 hrs later a toyota tries the same thing while we were fishing and the results speak for themselves.
the toyota driver had a mate who recovered the vehicle for him. but it was painful to see how stuffed up these two vehicles were after a soaking!

I tell you it was heart-sore to see once we got the vehicle out and opened the doors how much water was inside, added to that the lady who was driving's hubby must be an engineer or architect as there was stacks of construction drawings in the back...... al of them now buggered

I see that your vehicle was parked in deepish water for a while.
I strongly suggest that you have the diffs checked for water ingression, depending on how well the breather pipes are fixed and their position of course.

Sad thing is that cruiser will probably be sold promptly after drying. High price because it is a cruiser. Some poor unsuspecting bloke is going to buy it

O.B yes you are probably right, sad fact is that all that drama could have been avoided by getting feet wet.
