Default Colt 2.8 non turbo 1999

Hi how do you take of the crankpulley to change the crankseal. One question some one told me yesterday that , the crankpulley is a vibratingpulley? Have like a rubber between the inner ond outer parts of the pulley.

    Default Seal Change

    Good day,

I've done the same job on my Gen 2 Pajero 4m40Turbo(2.8Tdi).
The crank pulley is called a damper.
    The 2.8d & 2.8Tdi should be the same(sub-assy).
It's a Fairly easy job.Just for kicks - turn the engine to its marks on the pully & pointer.(its not essential)
Firstly you must remove fan blade & cowling.
Loostening the pully bolt might be difficalt, Airtool if you've got the space.Or else put some bricks in front & behind the wheels, stick it into gear & apply the brakes(engine OFF).
The pulley could then just be pulled out.

    PLEASE!!
Make sure when assembling that the keyway inside the crankshaft sits neatly in tack & dont FORCE the pulley in(as i did).
I cracked my damper pulley because of that, costing me R650 for a second hand one!
