Default Ai-Ais / Canyon Roadhouse / De -Hoop

Given a choice where would be the place of preference to stay?

Ai-Ais hot springs, Canyon Roadhouse or De Hoop.

I have a night at the Canyon Roadhouse and then have two spare nights before I need to be at Klein Aus. Sendelingsdrift is only available on the first night and de hoop is available on the 2nd, so options are:

    1)
    Canyon / Sendelingsdrift /De hoop /Klein Aus

    2)
    Canyon / Sendelingsdrift / Ai-Ais / Klein Aus

    3)
Canyon / Canyon / Sendelingsdrift / Klein Aus (Extra Night at Canyon)

And Klein Aus is not available on night 3 so the option of an extra night there is not available

    Thoughts?

We were very happy at Ai-ais.

Klein Aus is booked up until the end of the century.

BUT, there are places in Aus as well.

Do go to Ai Ais, though, and walk in along the canyon for an hour or two. Set off at sunrise, and you'll have one of the more pleasant mornings of your life!

Is the ferry at Sendelingsdrift working again? It was still closed at the end of April 2011.

Camp 1 night at Ai-Ais (extend it to 2 if you really enjoy it). If you have kids, you will probably end up staying 2 nights - mix kids with (warm) water and you have a winner. Camp the second night wild on the Orange river - you can still do this - you camp oposite the Richtersveld park so have the same scenery and the same river (I can suggest a few sites - PM me if you want to camp on the river). Travel via the Gamkab canyon - Orange river - Fish River bridge - Rosh Pinah to Aus.

    Enjoy!
