Default Mana Pools to Lake Malawi

    Wondering which route to take:
Mana-Lusaka-Chipata-Cape McClear (stopping to overnight en route)
    OR
Mana-Harare-Dedza-Cape McClear (stopping overnight en route)
To consider: vehicle entry fees, road quality, scenic route, etc...

Please tell me what you think.
    Thanks!

no problem.....roads are all tarred! Malawi roads are fine, make sure of fuel availability. When you pass Chipata you are 135km from South Luangwa Park.....pop in and go to Croc Valley!

Your best option is Jhb to Harare to Dedza (all tar - we confirmed this with the cops last week). Another alternative is Jhb to Mutare to Blantyre. Depends on if you want to do the southern section. No point coming through Zambia if you are only going to overnight.

Just remember that "all tar" doesn't mean all that much in most heavily populated countries. The pedestrians and bicycles will keep you to a sedate 70km/h - or at least it should!
