    Default Water levels in Moremi-Info?

    Any extra info......??

I have just received a e-mail from Xomae Group(3rd Bridge campsite concession holders) that state "Dear valued client,The water level in Moremi is continuously rising, therefore Xakanaka-Third Bridge Route is not easily accessible. So please be informed that 1st and 2nd Bridge Route will be an alternative access,as all the bridges are currenly under maintenace......."

Has anybody got any additional information as we will be in Moremi(3rd Bridge) and Chobe(Savute/Ihaha) from 7 August to 18 August 2011) ?

I also presume that other members going at the same time would have seen the same e-mail as the e-mail was CC'ed to alot of presumable "valued clients"

    Any info appreciated
    Regards
    Dean

Will be in Bots same time but we are starting in Ihaha 8th to 12th and traveling south Savuti 13th and 14th and 3rd Bridge 15th to 19th. We should cross paths somewhere. I have not received any notification from Xomae with respect to the water levels. Enjoy

Are you guys taking meat from here. We are taking precooked meals for most nights. Maybe a stuped question but do you know if uncooked Chicken is allowed.

Just got back 2 weeks ago.
Moremi had very limited water,2nd bridge was a small detour to the right, even a small terios made it through.
Chobe was very dry,the river was awesome ,teaming with animals.
Ihaha was awesome right on the chobe river which was about 20metres from our site no8.
Lots of soft sand but keep up your momentum.
Great holiday the people a awesome, can`t do enough for you.
If you enter at south gate, obtain your fire wood 15km before you reach the gate, you will pay 4pula against 30pula at the gate.
    Have a great time

Thanks guys for the comments and advice. On previous overland trips we have found it much more convienient to precook most meals. This trip we are taking a few curries a few potjies and mince meals all precooked. All we then need to do is defrost pour into the potjie and cook. Hence we purchase before we go. We also take Chicken prego steaks as these are quick to prepare and if you can get fresh rolls are a great easy meal. Our trip takes us from JHB to Elephant Sands and then to Ihaha, Savuti, 3rd bridge and Khama Rhino, so would have to shop in Kasane (as aposed to Maun) which I do believe also has good shops. We will be restocking our fresh requirements here. Leaving on Saturday 6th at 4am. Cant wait

Dean, Spar in Maun is open on a Sunday. Look out for their Kudu boerie! You'll chow your fingers off! Also buy the local meat there - not SA products. Better meat and better price.

Hey guys we just cant wait so have taken Friday off and are going to head to Stevensford Game Reserve, just across the Martins Drift Border for Friday night. Will make the trip to Elephant Sands a lot more relaxed and we get into the bush a day earlier. Anyone stayed at Stevensford Game Reserve?
