Default Urgent Help- Trailer Tyre in Western Cape

I urgently need a new or secondhand 5/20-10 tyre for an ancient Venter trailer in Western Cape. Had a bad vibration on the Forester from before Baufortwest which started at about 125km/h and worsened with increased speed (did not dissappear up to 160km/h). Initially thought it is wheel alignment or shock, but when I parked in Gordon's Bay I saw that the right-hand side tyre of the Venter trailer was missing a large patch of tread of approximately a sixth of the wheel. Any idea where I can find one of the rare (precious) little tyres?

Have you seen the speed rating on those cross-ply tyres? You can consider yourself lucky that you did not lose the whole tyre.

    Rather change to 145 R 10, they're more suited for 125km/h.

While you are in the process of changing the tyres why not change to 13in rims. I am sure there are 13 ins rims available, there was a thread on this some time ago.

160 km/h with a trailer, with 10" wheels and cross ply tyres, with a vibration from an unknown cause....

    Brave man.

Anybody care to calculate how many RPM those precious little wheels were doing!

I tried to do that on the Karet trailer I borrowed from Oppers last month.

The PCD was not the same and also the 13'' tyre would hit the mudguards.

I phoned him to lend him the wheels off my trailer. He's busy looking at another option and will come back to me if he doesn't come right.
So he's kinda sorted for now

Spike thanks for the offer. I'll contact you if I don't come right with one of the dealers.

To the other guys, I'm not a complete pertol head (although I drive a Scooby). The 160 km/h was just a short burst to find out if the vibration was limmited to a certain speed range or not. For the remainder of the route the cruise control is set to 128 km/h on the clock giving me 121 km/h on the GPS. I know this is still a bit fast for those 10 inches, but I dont have enough leave days to drive at 80km/h from Pretoria to Cape Town and still have time for holiday.

    Default venter tyers

Try Kwik Fit ( I think) next to Shell garage at the Brackenfell P&P Hypermarket. They stocked small tyers for ventrer's.
