    Goose,

I came from Ngorongora through to Naabi Hills a couple of weeks back. The Oldvai Gorge museum and shifting sands are within a few kms of each other and only about 5/6 kms off the main transit road through to the Serengeti. Clearly signposted. I haven't traveled up to Natron from there but believe it is a fairly tough road.

I suggest you try and get hold of the Veronica Roodt maps/books for the NCA and/or the Serengeti. The maps, like her Botswana ones, are google earth images overlaid with mapped roads and have many many GPS waymarks. They also indicate the likely state of the road at different times of the year and estimated times to transit in some cases.

    Thank you

    Hi Tony,

We have the points on our GPS. But we heart, that we can drive there only with a Guide or Parkranger.
And I would like to know if this is true, because we want to do it without a Guide.

    Thank you
    Beate
