4x4 Trails in & around KZN

I wanted to see if there were some 4x4 Trails in KZn or near by, that i could go on since my kids are still very small; and long trips will not work for me at the moment.
Did some research and came up with quite a few that one can have a look at going on for a weekend. I tried to get the most accurate info.
If anybody has been on these trails, and can update the grading or other info on them - it will benefit us all. If you know of others i missed, we would all love to hear about them too!

1. Camp Buffalo 4x4 Route:

2. Thaka Zulu Game Reserve 4x4 Routes:
Thangami Safari Spa – 034 9800917, 0832566037, www.thangami.co.za trail is near Vryheid
3. Bivane 4x4 Route:
Jeff Makwala - 034 9832540, 0827772173, www.kznwildlife.com Trail is on Ithala Game Reserve near Vryheid
4. Moon Mountain 4x4 Route:
Horst Filter – 034 9950017, 0826287702, Trail is on R543 between Piet Retief & Wakkerstroom area
5. Wakkerstroom Heights:
Weavers Nest Country Lodge. Mark De Venny – 017 7300115, 0825200136. Trail is on R543 near Wakkerstroom
6. Three Provinces 4x4 Adventures:
Herman & Ronel Geldenhuys – 017 7355286, 0827858002, [email protected] Trail is off N4 near Charlestown
7. Tugam Safari Network:
Cobie Botha - 034 4131405, 0829909807, [email protected] www.tugam.co.za Trail is 25km from Pongola, there are 4 trails of 4km each which take about 2 hours to do. The grading of the trails is 2 to 3.
8. Usuthu-Thembe-Futi Transfrontier Park:
Thembe Elephant Park. Clint Halkett-Siddal – 0823356062, www.kznwildlife.com Trail is near Pongola.
9. Bonani Wild & Wonderful:
Vernon Conradie – 0795096446, [email protected] www.bww.co.za/offroadactivities Trail is 50km from Newcastle, near Ncandu Falls area, behind Chelmsford dam, N11 access. The trail is 7 hours and has a grade 3 rating.
10. Hidden Valley route / Southern Cross:
David van Niekerk – 033 2631470, 0838724611. Trail is off R74 between Greytown and Weenen area
11. Gwahumbe Game Reserve 4x4 Trails:
Reception – 031 7811082, 0823476536, [email protected] www.gwahumbe.co.za Trail is on Secondary road, off the R603 near Camperdown
12. Ngwempisi Gorge 4x4 Route:
Rusty & gerda Evans – 00268601511, 002686061512, [email protected] Trail is in Swaziland, off MR4 near Malkerns
13. Kelvin Grove:
Nick or Candy – 036 4881652. Trail is 22km from Winterton. Various trails available ranging from 2 – 3 hours. It has 2 grade rating
14. Kosi Bay Nature Reserve:
Chris – 0826780264, Trails is 15km from Manguzi. They are of various lengths and have a grade 2 rating
15. Montello Safari Lodge & 4x4 Trail:
Sean Slatter – 033 4133334, Tail is 2 hours from Durban. They are of various lengths and have a 2 – 3 grade rating.
16. Simunye 4x4 Trail:
Dave Wylie – 035 4593111, Trail is 21 km from Melmoth.

* Amatikulu (4x4 only, but I would do it in a platkar)

Mfuli Game ranch has a 4x4 track, it's about 50Km from Richards Bay(http://www.mfuli.co.za).

Thangami game reserve has a few 4x4 tracks as wel as other adventure activities, it's close to Vryheid(http://www.thangami.co.za)

Search the forum for the Toti waterfal trail. It's almost in your back garden

Just want to add Stoney Ridge near Weenen... www.stoneyridge.co.za. You can camp or book into their tented camp site if you want to make a weekend of it.
