Default River bed trip in August

I can organise one of two river bed trips for the week end 9 to12 August. The first trip is the Klein Letaba river and the second is the Molotots river. We will travel up to Giyani (north of Pietersburg) to fill up. From there we can do either one of the two trips.
The Klein Letaba river trip can be very decieving. The water flows most of the time under the surface which means that you drive on a crust which can break up at any time. Snatch straps is a must as you are almost cirtain to get stuck. There will also be a lot of water crossings of differant depths. The grass and bushes in the river bed are also very high and at times you can not see ahead of you and have to follow the car in front. As the river bed changes after each rain fall the route changes with it. Could be challanging but a lot of fun.
The Molotots river is a very technical route with a lot of obsticals. If you are carefull you will not encounter any damage to your vehicle but if you want to be a cowboy vehicle damage may occur. This is a very challanging route but very nice.
Both routes have no facsillaties at all. We have to be fully self sufficiant. Have to carry our own drinking water, showers and loo's (if you don't want to use the bush). The cost for the trip is R1600 for the group. This is to cover the expences of the trip guide. The more vehicles we have the less it will cost per vehicle. The trip guide knows the area very well and also speaks the local lingo.
Anybody interested in one of these trips? Please contact me on 082 693 8395. Rather phone me as I do not have free access to a computer anymore.

    Default river trip

    Hi all,
Glad to see we already have 4 vehicles. I know this is far ahead of time but I want to get it fixed before that weekend is taken up by some other event. Pitstop, Trevor, Hilton, Engel, Ben are you guys coming?

    Sorento,
I opend my PM and tried to phone you but got through to somebody else, seems like finger trouble when you typed in the number. We are now more or less settled and don't "squat" any more, if you want to come around to look at Gert's canopy you are welcome.

Sounds brilliant. I was keen to do this last year.....I'm not sure where I'll be by Aug. this year, so have to sit the fence on this one for now, but will watch this thread with interest and join if I am around.

Andre, for the moment I'll sit on the fence too, although I'm really keen on doing this trip. We'll have to see closer to the time....

Hey, now that sound like a good "warm up" plan.............

Rust de Winter? Is that one of the "must do" trails that are a bit more challenging than your normal run of the mill? I'm keen for something a bit more technical.........
