Sorry, I wasn't sure if it fits the bill. At least by replying you help me re-think what this thread is all about.

Spook, we are all (I hope) nature lovers, but crucify me if you will, I personally find wildlife photography unimaginative, and very rarely tells me about the person behind the lens. My intention was trying to get people to think about photography as an art. Not that I am better than anyone else here, because quite frankly, while I know what makes a great photo, I am piss-poor at executing it, especially when in comes to thinking, not only out of the box, but whether the box is not in fact a box at all.

Don't get me wrong, I have seen some people develop into very good technical photographers on this forum (and I envy their ability), but they are still anonymous to me.

Then again, I admit, there was some selfishness to my OP... I was looking for stuff I could copy, or at least try emulate... and there are already a few pictures in this thread I find inspiring...

Randy, I also like taking pics of my cars mirrors. Gives a nice twist as you say on what you've just seen. And where you're going sometimes.

SimonB: Great thread. Good to see so many photographers (or aspiring) on the forum.

Seeing as many people enjoy taking pictures, not many of us know how to take the best picture/most artistic correct picture (without doing some expensive course).

So I was thinking why don't we arrange an outing/GTG at some point where we can all participate and bring our unique skills/experiences to the table. (something like a mini 4x4+photo club thing)?

I for one would like it very much to learn as much as possible, whenever possible, from as many people as possible.

Die tweede foto het ek met dieselfde kamera geneem by The Hole in the Wall, ek het so laag as moontlik probeer neem!
