Only thing is that one has to look out for the Quads. They are worse than the taxis down the emergency lane

Problem is Bennie, that Engel was just as dirty and muddy as I was. Difference was that his Jeepy didnt have the clearance for the mud I got stuck in which I washed off by driving through the dam thats there.

Donovan, I know just the place where we can test it too.... Only 3Km from your house too.

    Thats an easy tow

Talking of which, when I went through the dam at Arora, I went in rather deep. I heard the radiator splashing the water and held an ear out for anything going wrong. With deep we'll have to wait for Engel to tell us, but I reckon at least the whole mag was under water. I could have gone deeper, but was scared that the Jeepy wouldnt be able to recover me if I did....

I did see it before, I was merely teasing.

Interesting thing happend yeasterday- Me and Hendrik (Ostilion) went to Bass Lake. At one stage his Nissan started boiling and when we inspected closer we saw the fan blades were stuck on the couling, thus the fan was stationary. We wiggled everything and then it came loose and it worked OK again. We suspected the radiator to be loose and that it might have moved or something. Then Hendrik phoned me this morning and told me that as he was checking the Van this morning he saw the engine was out of its normal position due to a busted engine mounting

You people know kai by now. Sure he grew up in the sahara, cos when he sees mud he starts getting those shiny eyes and a ###### grin. Wanted to stop him with the mud but went in the deep side 1st time. Then thru deep water. Had the best 1.5 hrs playing. Stayed out the mud but enjoyed the inclines. Almost a lot a damage going up the hill in 4x2. Just slid down but that bumper I build did the trick! Its one of those courses where you can easily roll your vehicle. Had to test the jeep after the repair!

    Frik,

Its on the RHS on Modderfontein Rd comming from Kempton Park. You carry on (and on and on) past Norkem Park and just as you get to Essylin Park (I think) its on the right. You cant really miss it..

Time to revive this thread again!

This afternoon I visited a friend at his office, but because he had someone there for an interview, I left earlier than expected. Being a bit bored and being in the area, I took a drive to the Dirftsands area behind the PE airport. I went to a few usual spots and then one I haven't been to in a while. Unfortunately it changed a bit since I was last there....and there was an unexpected hole! I immediately knew I wasn't getting out of there by myself. This happened at 5pm. I phoned Dirk and Chris(cmcs), but no answer! Then I phoned the friend I visited earlier, who drives a V8 disco 2, and lives not too far away. He still had something to do and after a lot of on-the-phone directions he got to me at 6:15pm in total darkness! We were in no rush, so we sat down, had a few refreshments, talked some nonsense and carefully discussed the recovery process since he has never used a snatch strap before. At about 6:45 we rigged up and with one gentle pull my disco was free with no damage.......just another normal day

(excuse the poor quality pics - cellphone in bad light)

Heres a picture of my Isuzu when I got stuck on a little mound at Dans Den. It damaged the first silencer box a bit, with the vibrating from the gravel roads, by the time I got top Patensie it was roaring like a wesbank V8
