    Default New Proud Owner

    Hi guys.

I am now the proud owner of my very first 4x4. I got a 2002 Isuzu KB 300 Tdi Lx 4x4 D/Cab in Cape Town this week and drove it back yesterday. Its in great condition and has some extras already. It has had the suspension raised slightly, bash blates, Unichip installed and is now pushing out 116kw (up from 96kw) and I will check the torque in the morning but I think it was about 350nm now. Has almost new gumboots and an amp and subwoofer installed behind the back seats.

I'll post pics once I go have it cleaned and polished and looking awsome.

Couple things now tho, I see that it is intercooled already which I wasn't aware of so was wondering:

    1) Is the UDF necessary on this engine? If so where do I get them and how much are they?

    2) Freeflow exhaust/branches/that sort of thing? Good idea? Benefits and costs?

Any other things I should be thinking about or things I should know about this vehicle?

Well I mainly wanted to clean the inside, but I also wanna clean it up outside so I can do an all round check for any rust, dents, etc. Also wanna clean up any scars on it so that I know the ones on it from now on are mine

As for heading out, I am ready anytime. I can't wait to take it out and see what it can do.

Another question I forgot to ask:

When I got the bakkie in CT I checked the cold tyre pressure and it was sitting at between 300 - 330. That sounded way too much to me but the manual that came with the car said 180 all round on the double cabs when unladen. I took it down to 250 before I hit the freeway to come home but I was wondering what was the correct pressure for road and freeway driving.

The tyres that are fitted are 31x10.50 R15 LT and a picture below. I don't recognize the brand since I don't know squat about 4x4 tyres.

    Correct pressure is 200-220 kpa.

    A 63mm pipe does wonders.

    Awesome bakkie, enjoy it.

Great! See you, in the Isooz, at the next outing.

I don't know those tyres either, but at least they're muddies and they're the right size, so I would keep them.

    Default New Isuzu proud owner

    Congrats!
DON'T do any more PERFORMANCE mods.
Get the UDF (e-mail them, the forum member who works for UDF is MIA).
    Try use only 50ppm Diesel.
If using 500ppm, change oil every 5000km.
Stick to the service schedule (every 10 000km).
    Clean the airfilter between services.
Warm up & idle down (that motor is the old KB280DT that's been bored, stroked & Intercooled).
    Enjoy!

Right guys, as most of you know already I have sold my Isuzu. I really did enjoy her and she never let me down. That engine was awesome and I really enjoyed every minute with her. Having said that I was looking to go more extreme with my vehicle and I have always had a thing for Jeeps so thats what I did. If I ever bought another bakkie it would definitely be an Isuzu.

Now I decided to find this old thread and just load up a bunch of pics of me and the ol gal together so at least there is some proof I ever had one

I made sure she went to a very good home.

Yeah Richard is a photographer and is a friend of Dirk's. He comes on some of the trails with the EC guys and takes some really great photo's. The ones he edits like that are awesome.
