Default trip to the central kalahari

we are busy planning our yearly trip to bots my question is we have a friend who wants to join us but he has not have a 4 x 4

is advisable to use a 2x4 towing a conquerer trailor on this trip or should he stay at home ?

Depending very much on the season and the choice of destination (camps). You can either find mud or deep sand on certain tracks.

In general I would NOT recommend the 4x2 with trailer..
...... unless of course, you don't mind doing countless recoveries and turn it into an adventure trip.

We have been with family who came up with a 4x2 yes they got stuck a few times ,but it would have been much harder with a trailer because of using momentum to get through. It all depends on your plan .

Depends when you go, we went after the rains and were warned about thick sand and more sand. This is what happened!
Personally, going that far out, i would not, but guys do and are fine.

We were there last year in end of may, never used 4x4 but lots of sand. I will not go with a trailor and a 2x4.
