Hi guys, we are developing off road caravans based in Port Elizabeth but as you know getting registered as a manufacturer takes huge effort and 1,5 to 2 years, or that's what I have herd from several guys that have been threw it. So does anyone maybe know of a manufacturing company that has or is going bust? We thinking of actually just buying a company that has the rights to building, well not evens the company but just there registration/homligations/manufacturing lisence and not evens there tools, depending on how we would be able to make a deal. We were looking at one that went bust and were just going to get the papers and leave him with all hiss tools so that he could still do other work but in the end he decided he is going to try get a loan again. So if anyone knows of anything or has any advice that would be helpful to us we would really appreciat it.

I have to agree guys. Also the proud owner of a Wildebeest Kalfie, towed with a Pajero Sport Shogun, and as hard as I've tried there is just no way to fault it. Juan (Wildebeest Trailers) is passionate, honest and reliable. The same qualities go into his trailers. Hard to find these days.

Some advice would be great.. we recently acquired a trailer from a supposedly reputable trailer manufacturer. Also mentioned on this forum. But we’ve had such bad service man.. kept forgetting about our order, then when we go to fit the chip, we arrive there only to find out he didn’t know we were coming. So what his admin lady said would take half an hour took two and a half.. then we discover we have no fridge and a missing jerry can containeras there was a problem with ours and as he didn’t know we were coming did not sort it out. Promised he’d bring it to our home in Randburg that week.. at home we discovered half the kitchen cabinet stuff is missing. He promised he’d bring that as well.. that was a month ago. He promised to come this weekend - nothing, not even an apology. We also discovered yesterday that some of the side cabinets’ braces and locks are rusting - one cabinet also seems to be leaking as the carpet inside is damp and it smells damp. In addition, there is a significant scratch on the side of the bumper which definitely did not incur ourselves! We took it straight home from the workshop. Now my husband has been more than gracious and patient but we are now getting quite concerned as we have a trip planned to go to Kgalagadi first week of November. Should we rather ask for our money back? Is the rust a natural occurrence this soon? We did have quite a lot of rain?

I would personally ask for a full refund.

Even if they make good on all the botch-ups, the experience was a bad one and you will always remember that you have been severely 'burnt'.

Restart again from scratch but apply all the lessons learnt - it will sooth the pain a bit.

Good luck - I wish that you get a second chance .....
