Found my Disco 3 (anyone in Pretoria to check it out for me?)

Hi,

Seems i might have sold my D2

Going to miss her like hell!

I have searched and found a very nice V8 (06 D3 HSE 80K on the clock) in Pretoria that ticks all my boxes...I have gone back and forth a hundred times as to what to go for and finally the petrol won.

The vehicle I have found is from a dealer in Pretoria (auto Select) I was wondering if any forum members are in their neck of the woods that can pop in and give it the once over for me? I would also like to have it taken to an independent for a full check up...any suggestions?

The dealer recommended these guys for me to have the vehicle mechanically checked www.indepedent4x4.co.za

Does anyone have feedback on these guys for me?

I think independent is fine, they are also along Zambezi drive and should give you as good an evaluation report as anyone else.

I would personally not take a car to anyone a dealer recommended. How sure are you they are not buddies, maybe its the boss of independed4x4's car? If you want to take it to an independent, take it to someone that they do not recommend and thats not in the same area than them.

Sorry I dont trust car dealers.

unfortunately i have to agree with you on this one - when it comes to your hard earned $$$ and car dealers you have to be anal......

the guys he recommended might not be so "independent"

very suspicious/unusual that a dealer offers/recommends an indy in my experience....for full peace of mind i'd find another indy

British 4x4 are a little further from Zambezi drive but they have an excellent reputation.Try them. I am afraid I don't have their details here but if you search for them they have been recommended many times on this forum.

i would call for the full service history on the vehicle.
It should tell you if this is a Monday car.
the year model is also important. the earlier D3's has some issues which were resolved on later models.

Had a look at the car yesterday and looked very clean. Think the owner thought it's a on-roader only.

Hope all checks out with the independent, but sure it will fly!
