Odd items to you maybe, but this is a general list that I use for the various 4x4 trails that we go on, no I do not take along all these items at once, the chainsaw is loaded sometimes when we have to re-open a trail that the thorntree branches have closed up, we do not cut back other trees only the thorntree type acacia found in this area and what is the use of a chainsaw if you do not take along the goodies that go with it.

Come on guys please try and not rip me off, rather add your knowledge to this thread that we may all benefit from it.

    Thankyou

Yip I noticed you normally carry! Must say I'm really disappointed though Spike! Where's that portable / battery operated angle grinder? Surely that goes first on the list?

Unfortunately a must nowadays. The problem comes crossing a border with those. I know a lot of people overlanding that hides it well just for in case

Nahh - that's is why he carries spare magazines.

If you for instance want to cut a way a piece of a fender (or other bodywork) Spike style in the bundu's all you do is as follows:

    1. Draw a line in the mud on the panel using your finger. (lick it wet before sticking it in the mud)
    2. Nice and very precise blow a couple of hole evenly spaced ( not too loose or too tight) all along the line.
    3. Tear off the unwanted piece on the line just as you would with toilet paper on the perforation lines.

and voila you have "Spiked" your vehicle there and then in the veld.

It is only a pleasure, but I unfortunately can not take credit as I also received it from a friend, albeit many moons ago.
    Glad it could help though.
