    Default BT-50 not starting

I am having a problem on one of my BT-50's, when I get in and turn the ignition on, all the dashboard lights come on, glow plug light comes on, then when I turn the key to start it its dead. Then if I switch it off and try again a few times it starts normally, and is fine for a couple of days. I've had the workshop at the place where i work look it over and they can't find anything wrong. Anyone have any advice or experienced similar problem?

    Would appreciate any help!

I have just spoken to my old man who runs a bt-50 , he also has similar issues occasionally .
Ford/Mazda are unable to assist/diagnose the problem .
He has narrowed it down to the central locking / key system .
He advised to manually lock the doors before starting . He didnt recall the exact sequence , but said that locking the doors manually usually gets the vehicle going .

Im sure it has nothing to do with the door locks itself , however its a sequence that needs to be completed with the security system .

Good luck , please give us feedback .

Thanks for the feedback! I'll give it a try. I'm going to see if Rustenburg Ford/mazda can figure it out on its next service ( Which I doubt!)

I'll let you know if they by some miracle manage to accomplish anything.....

Also, does your Dad have any problems with his airbag light? Both of mine keep illuminating and I've had the one looked at 3 times - I've just decided to live with it now.

    Thanks

Awesome thanks! Just managed to fix the airbag light problem on the double cab! But I can only find the airbag plug on my single cab under the drivers seat. Any idea where the plug is for the passenger seat?

Really drives me insane now knowing how easy it is, and last time I took it in to Mazda, they kept it there for 5 hours just to do that!

    Thanks again!
