    Default Meyer Plaas

    Hi guys

Does anybody know if the is a 4x4 track/route @ Meyer Plaas in Alberton?
There where they have the anual Klipkoppie fees? I saw a route going up in the mountains? You can also see it from the highway.

Does anybody know about this place? The normal map shows it as a dam, but on streetview you can see a 4x4 track. Its out on the Maloto road close to Blue Moonlight Lodge.

It looks like its part of an old Veldskool/adventure camp place. It is sort of fenced off. But the gate is always open, maybe someone can pop in and ask? I don't go that way anymore.

You will have to watch the Gauteng and4x4 Trails / Routes / Clubs sections regularly. There is unfortunately no such events calendar available.

I sent in my new 4x4 toy to get a few things done, the plan is to take it for a bit of a test this weekend and see what it's like off road and learn it's tricks. Is there anyone that would like to show me what my Suzuki Samurai can do at Mahem area (I've wanted to check it out for a long time now)? Or anywhere not too far or expensive this coming weekend?

I'd really hate to go on my own in a 4x4 I don't know at all. Getting stuck in the middle of nowhere doesn't sound like something I'd like to do, especially with my youngest son as passenger.

Let me know, maybe someone has space for one more 4x4 on a planned trail this weekend?

    Thanks in advance.

Myself and my Gf are heading out to Hennops on Sunday morning. Not a planned group thing but if people want to join that's all good. It'll be my first time in my FJ cruiser so going to take things slow and just feel how the car handles.

That sounds like a nice idea, hopefully I will get my SJ back tomorrow and my son and I will join.

In Kempton Park, there are a few little spots I know of if you just want to test some things out.
The first is just a track down a hole. Even soft roaders can do it. Up the other side is a little more challenging but nothing serious.

The second place I know of is here: Dropped pin

Its next to a motocross track that as far as I know doesnt actually belong to anyone. It's on the way to Serengeti Estate.
