Nuvi 500 voice prompts

Some help on the Nuvi 500 please.

1. Is it possible to get the Nuvi 500 to repeat a voice prompt.
For example, on the Quest there's a button which, when pressed, repeats the voice prompt.
Does the Nuvi 500 have something similar?

2. The default English voices on the Nuvi 500 are not great. Are alternative voices available?

I downloaded some additional voices for my 500 and used the new English one which is better than the two options that come with the unit. Nowhere in the users manual does it tell one how to replay the last command as was the case with the Quest.

Hi Trevor

To replay the voice touch the top left of the screen on the 'Next Turn' icon. This will replay the voice prompt and will bring up the next turn detail on the screen.

Which site did you download the alternative voice from?

Hi PRA

There are three places you can go and look for alternative voices. At www.garmin.com you will find the free voices. I got the English one from there. Then there is www.gpscreative.co.za which has voices you can purchase. Www.pigtones.com also has voices to purchase.

The Nuvi tech told me this am that they are getting a firmware upgrade for the 500 in March. All the problems will hopefully be sorted out.
