    Default Rhino Trailer

I found this ad in the latest Tight Lines for those interested.

" Rhino lite trailer includes : 4x4 trailer with spare wheel, 2 jerry cans, roof top tent PLUS bottom room and awning for only R17 000-00 excl vat. "

Depending on quality, it sounds like a pretty good deal to me. They can be contacted at 011 815-5740 and are based in Springs.

True Dirk, but I'll get my youngest son who lives in Springs to have a look and take some photos.

Sorento, it would be nice if you can post pics and more specs, for instance, metal thickness, bonding method, axle type and rating. Also some info on the tent they use.

    Thanks,

If this is for a new trailer it is a helluva bargain- I do agree that you get what you pay for but at more than half the price of a Echo or Conqueror it stays a bargain. If I look at this trailer on the website it looks similar to a Bushbaby (yeah I know the lid on top is a bit of schlep) and I know of more than one guy who has them and are quite happy with them. My one colleague at work pulls his with his Sorento and he has been places like over the Sani-pass in his.

Not everyone can afford to pay R40K plus for a trailer with RTT. When I saw this I called my father in-law immediately. He said to me more that once when we went camping that he would have loved to get a trailer like my Bundu but at R 40K+ he simply just could not justify the expense.

My son stopped at Rhino and had a look at these trailers.
Cladding is 1.2mm and fully welded. No bolts except where required for hinges etc.
Nose cone and "bak" are one piece - no division between the two.
Inside of trailer is fully covered in what appears to be a stone chip type material.
4 stabilisers which are toyally concealed when not in use. (bush baby has only 2)
    A choice of wheel sizes 13, 14 and 15"
RTT material looks and feels very similar to the Howling Moon RTT.
Lower and shorter than a bush baby.
No side doors. Has a rear door and lid that lifts.
Trailer and RTT are fully guarenteed.
Comes complete with spare wheel and 2 jerry cans.
My son said the salesman was so enthusicated about his product that he forgot to look at the chassis construction and forgot a few other questions as well. The trailer on show had just come back from a test trip in Namibia with no problems.
In general he said the product appeared to be well made and a good alternative for those perople not requiring the "full monty" and well worth a second look for people in this market.

It's good enough to really temp me. Wish I could inspect the trailer myself. Where is Springs from JHB airport. I'll be in Pretoria at the end of the month. Is it close by?

Springs is in the "Far East" (I grew up in Springs).

Just carry on along the N12 towards Witbank. past Benoni (Middle East), turn off at Daveyton / Springs interchange.

Not far (I'd guess 35km, depending on where in Springs you're going)

Hi Shareef, depending where you will be in Pretoria it's not too far. Let me know closer to the time and I or my son can take you or give you more detailed directions. My son lives fairly close to Rhino.
