Default Fresh Veg and Meat at Maxixe/Inhambane

I read somewhere that there is now a place in Maxixe where you can get good meat and fresh vegetables/salad stuff. Presumably this is not at either of the markets in Maxixe or Inhambane so can anyone please pass on some details of the shop and its contents. many thanks. It will make life a lot easier with swambo if we can top up after a week or so.

Hi Quattro, we were in Moz about two weeks back, in Maxixe we shopped at Taurus, around the corner from the Petromoc garage. It's small by South African standards but they do stock whats important at reasonable prices. They mighgt have a limited range but I'm sure you'll find what you need there.

Taurus indeed, but for really good veggies and some fruit, shop in the municipal markets in Maxixe and Inhambane. The Maxixe market is particularly good for veggies.

Apologies, I just checked my note book, and it was the market in Inharrime that had very good veggies. It is on the left in the middle of the village coming from the south. But I have previously shopped at Maxixe market and if I remember correctly, it was also well stocked. The Inharrime market had good stocks of onions, potatoes, tomatoes, carrots, beans, brinjal, cabbage etc etc.

Thanks , i normally stop before the bridge at Inharrime and take a dip in the lake to freshen up . Works wonders after 12 hours in the car , will be sure to stop and check out the market .
