    Default Honingklip Farm 4x4 Route

    Hi Chaps & Chapesses,

We're opening a new 4x4 route on our farm. We are near the Kleinmond turnoff. I have no idea of grades etc so I need a little help .

I currently have 28km with the "technical" stuff at the begining of the route. After some fun we travel up the mountain where there are some stunning views I guess with a few buddies, photo's etc it would take 3-4 hrs to complete.

I would like 5 guys to join me this weekend - possibly Sunday morning (weather looks dodgy for Sat but we'll see what happens).

First 5 to PM can come for a freebie and tell me what they think 8)

I've done the route in my Jeep KJ 2.8 CRD with an OME installed by R & D

    A couple of pics:

If you get a PM back from me your in...

Never mind that, does Richard know he has just ended up with half the Fri Arvie club - if it's not torn up by now it soon will be!

Very Jealous I can't make this one!

    I guess it's 5 x Jeeps then...

    Gunhog
    Apocolypse
    XJJ
    Hoffie
    David A

OK, I'll let two more come as I might have one other from Hermanus coming - that would then take the total to 10 which might be better to see how many we could fit on at once

This would all be weather depending - current forecast is some rain/drizzle on Sat. If we ride on Sun we could certainly go between 8am and 9am

I'm really jealous and am going to sulk in my cabin on the rig

Richard you have a "league of gentlemen" assembled there and if they can't give your trail a decent "going over" no one can but I can't see what the weather has to do with it - just means the Jeeps with have to put their roofs on - Rain won't stop them - Wait till you see the tyres fitted to these Jeeps

    OK, count yourselves in

    No more for now guys...

    The list as follows:

    Gunhog
    Apocolypse
    XJJ
    Hoffie
    David A

Guys, please take note that there is nothing super (according to me) some might really enjoy it - no idea

All I am after is some comments etc, make it more difficult in places, eaier in places, just right etc !!!

    Directions as follows:

From the Kleinmond side head for the R43, Hermanus, Botriver Rd. Turn left the the T-junction and head to Botriver - approx 800m turn left into Honingklip Farm - 2 x big stone walls - directly after the bus shelter.

From CT - come down Houw Hoek Pass, left onto the R43 Hermanus rd, pass the Shell garage, pass the brickworks, pine row on left, turn right where the row ends - if you hit the Kleinmond turnoff see directions above.

Once in the gate come staight up the road and follow the signs for Top Quads (not my business but they use our land) and meet there

Shout if you need anything else

Guys, please take note that there is nothing super (according to me) some might really enjoy it - no idea please dig some holes for the Jeeps we like those.

All I am after is some comments etc, make it more difficult in places, eaier in places, just right etc !!!

Don't worry I have a few shovels we can use.... and I am sure swambo's JK will find a few new routes..... it just tends to do that. Don't make it easier there are no toy's coming along.

4x4Freak is on standby in case Hoffie gets the packing vibes from swambo, he is going on leave for a month..... &%$#@

So whats the plan.... I suggest a nice lunch in Kleinmond afterwards..... where we can digest the trail .

Just got home & glad to see that my name is on the list

But I was a little concerned that Tunja referred to David A (AWAC) & Hoffie (The Hoff) as a "league of gentlemen", when we all know that this is being a little economical with the truth . The sea air must be getting to Tunja

Thanks Richard. We will look forward to meeting you & the other okes, & if it isnt tar, we will enjoy 8)
