    Default Fish hoek caravan park

    Morning all.
Have been visiting gert du toit's baai for 6 weeks now and are planning our trip further south towards cape town.
Swambo's family lives in fish hoek and they want to get us a stand in the fish hoek caravan park for a couple of days but i have never heard of that place and i tried to search the forum to no avail.
Please give me some pointers on the place.
    Thanks

It is a City of Cape Town park and it is very neat, right on the beach. I can get you a phone number by this afternoon. Maybe the City's website will have information?

It is just behind the sand dune line as you enter Fish Hoek from the north ie from Cape Town. Very exposed but within easy walking distance of Fish Hoek business centre.
My preference would be Chapmanspeak Caravan Park; much quieter, more sheltered hut you have to drive about 5 km to Fish Hoek

Having lived there for 30 years, my choice would be :

    1 Chapmans peak

    2 Imhoff

    3 Fish Hoek

I've lived in the South Peninsula for the last 17 years. Do Chapmans Peak and Imhoff Parks still exist?? Thought they closed years ago. Fish Hoek Park - do they have active security? It appears to be a bit open to the public.

Imhoff and Chapmans peak are both alive and well.
Not sure about security at Fish Hoek

Try Miller's Point-a bit further south than Fish Hoek

-nice quiet and secure sites, and seems well tended at a glance

-if the weather is good, I imagine it will be a lovely place to camp right on the seashore

-you have to book through the City of Cape Town somehow, and collect/pay for bookings at a local supermarket.

+1 for Millers Point, bit of PT to book and 15km from Fish Hoek otherwise very good.

At Fish Hoek caravan park they stole a guy's rallye awning + everything outside, including the electric cable whilst they were asleep.

My first choice will always be a private resort in preference to municipal parks. Both Fish Hoek and Millers Point are municipal, and the upkeep shows it. At Millers Point we saw 22 campers on one site whilst the max is 6. Man, and could those guys drink and swear!

Maybe the OP has been blown out to sea at Fish Hoek ?
