    Default Oil Changes

    Hi Guys

i recently purchased a older Disco 4, 2010, with 125k on , and been reading, and looking for input on the oil changes being done every 10000, is it beneficial? i have and idea the last oil change was at 118k ( control arms bushings? and cam belt was done then) . Been phoning around, and getting quotes, and for a straight oil change service, at a "RMI" Approved place ( mainly for after market warranty crap) they asking around R2800 , and Landrover dealership is asking R3200. Is it better in this instance just to go to LR themselves?

I bought at Disco 4 2010, 155,000 kms in Jan this year. Wesbank called me soon afterwards and offered me a 'Service Plan' which included the cambelt service. T

Must be done at LR Dealer. Last week took it in t Waterford and they did it together with the normal service. Cost to me R0. The total bill was R15,813 which is very reasonable as far as I am concerned. Before you ask this was for both belts.

The service interval on mine is 13,000 kms so all future services fully covered. I think the Disco 3 was every 26,000 kms for service and that's why guys prefer to do it every 10.000 just to be safer. Not really applicable to us?

I must say that Waterford are not at all expensive in my opinion.

The service book of my D4 has a clause added by the dealer that the car needs to be serviced every 10,000km or one year, and they made the buyer sign acknowledgement of this.

Year model might make a difference? Maybe part of the original 'LR Maintenance Plan'? I presume that you are the 2nd owner?

    Here's another way...

Buy your own oil ( better than the Castrol they use) and let them do the labour.
