Prefer the older shape myself. I hear the new Tucson i35 is not selling anything like they expected ? It too has had a radical shape change with a weird roof angle !!

That was just a concept car and will not be the Terracan replacement. In fact the current status is that Hyundai will not be replacing the Terracan. They have a large SUV, the Veracruz or IX50, but it is a soft roader. There sister company Kia is now producing the only real 4x4, the Mohave / Borrego, but unfortunately it is not destined for SA. It has similar looks to the new Pajero, has low range and there is also a V8 available.
Economically it does not make sense for Hyundai to have a similar vehicle produced - if they did it would have been the same vehicle with badge engineering. The Hyundai group owns Kia. See the link below for setails in this Kia 4x4, quite impressive.

    Duncan,

Don't get me wrong... That hyundai looks pretty but it is more in the X5 class than anything else...

    Adolfshoe,
It will be damn nice if we could get that V8 Mohave/Borrego here but like you said, they are not destened for SA shores...

Once again TRUE legand gone. However people will in the near future look for the CAN as 2nd hand like the SUZ 900 for its affordablity and great handling. Pity this icon did not see it thru as it was up there with the VERY BEST at half the price

Yep, unfortunately most manufacturers are slowly moving away from the heavy real 4x4's and are opting for smaller 'green' SUV's without low range and real 4x4 capabilities. At the end it will probably only be the specialist manufacturers that will still built these vehicles and then it will probably be for the military, government institutions like SANSPARK and commercial use, with very limited and probably expensive one's available to the 4x4 public.

    Default Hyundai Terracan replacement bumbers

    Hi all

Any ideas on a replacement bumper for my Terracan. Have completed all the other mods, snorkel, body lift, iron man suspension, roof carrier, compressor, 2nd battery, fridge sliders, mud terrains etc., but cannot seem to find a decent replacement bumper.

    Many thanks

    Barry

    Default Terracan

Hi I know this thread is old but you all seem to be the most knowledgeable on the Terracan. I currently have a 2011 Santa Fe which is fantastic and my best ever buy - on road especially and pretty good offroad as well. I have been looking however at getting a more pukka off road 4X4, but not wanted to replace my Sante Fe. I was looking at all options and found a 2008 Terracan 3.5 V6 petrol in what appears to be in mint condition with 170000km on clock. I have yet to buy it, but my wife has fallen in love it and wants it for herself (and I can then take it off road). So: 1) What is the fuel consumption like? 2) Is the mileage too high in your opinion? 3) Is it actually that good and tough off road?

    Thanks guys.

That thing is a tuff as nails. Its a Pqjero Gen 2 chassis and Motor. That motor is strong and reliable, but its thirsty. Personally I think you can expext 6kmpl in town, and 7kmpl on the open road.
