    Question First timer Mozambique

We are planning to go to Mozambique in December is it wise?
We only have 2 weeks and would like to travel less and stay more, and the other issue is we might end up going with 1 4x4 and 1 or 2 4x2 cars, so have to plan routes according.
    Please help

Moz is great all year round, summer is hot and humid - more gin and tonic!! Was up at Bilene last December and the car temp guage got to 46deg.
Going back again this Dec but making sure that where I go has full time electricity to run a fan and ice machine.
There are many places that are accessible with 4x2, having a 4x4 will help get out of some sticky situations. Try Ponta do Ouro in the south or Bilene, Xai Xai, Zavora ot Tofo all north of Maputo.
Must warn you, it is a bit late to get decent booking availability for this Dec!
    Enjoy, you'll go back.

If you struggle to find accommodation you can contact me. If it doesn't rain in Dec the sand is very dry and loose. Getting stuck is easy esp. if you must give way to oncoming traffic in some places. Try to stay on existing tracks as far as possible.

If you deflate your tyres to at least 1.2 you make the footprint longer. Be careful of diff-lock when going through sharp corners, the inner wheel will dig into the sand.

    Always travel in a group.

I Guys, I am also the mozy virgin.

I am planning to go there in March. I want to go to Inhambane, and see barra resort. Well I actually want to stay at Duna Branca, that’s close barra resort.

I wont be going with someone that knows Mozy though. If any of you could give me some pointers please.
    1. Will a 4x2 be sufficient ( I assume so ) I do have a diff lock?
    2. How much Diesel will I use? From Pta, barra resort and back
    3. And as a general guideline how much spending money should I take with?
    4. And Lastely is March a good time to go?

    Thanks Guys

Jy se net double shot of Rum

    1. Will a 4x2 be sufficient ( I assume so ) I do have a diff lock?

    2. How much Diesel will I use? From Pta, barra resort and back

Watse bakkie ry jy? My Jeep het so 10km/l gekry, het van PTA tot in Komatipoort gery (3/4 tank), daar volgemaak, tot in Inhambane gery (1 tank), daar rond vir twee weke 2 tanks uitgery, weer volgemaak in Inhambane en 2 tanks tot by Ponta do Ouro gebruik. So dink jy kan werk op so 4 tanks (afhangende van jou verbruik) om daar en terug te kom, en hoeveel jy daar uitry is jou eie saak

    3. And as a general guideline how much spending money should I take with?

Sjoe, hoeveel wil jy drink? Die bar by Duna Branca is belaglik goedkoop, jy sal dink jy hoor verkeerd! hoe verder jy suid gaan hoe duurder word dit...jy moet maar besluit hier, ek het so R5k saamgevat vir spending money, was genoeg vir 2 weke, en ek hou van kuier...

    4. And Lastely is March a good time to go?

PM my as jy enigiets verder wil weet

    Cheers
