Default Jimny key in the ignition BEEP BEEP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone else that's been driven crazy by this damn buzzer...?

I disconnected mine, and showed someone else to how to do it, he suggested I post it here aswell, so he goes.

It is very simple, will take about 1 minute. It only disconnects the buzzer on the ignition. The "lights on" buzzer will still work.

Underneith the steering wheel is a cover that you pull open.
Then you will see a plug with 2 green wires on the one side and a blue/yellow and white on the other side. disconnect this plug.

I have cabletied mine to keep the wires from hanging lose.

See photo's below for step by step instructions:

    1. Where to open Cover
    2. Cover clip details
    3. Plug to disconnect
    4. Plug disconnected
    5. Plug cabletied

I know this Beep is very irritating, especially on a trail where you switch your car off from time to time. So i hope this will help with some blood pressure problems...

Nice simple fix to a really annoying "feature". For curiosity's sake anyone know what this set of leads is for? I am guessing it the signal to a controller that shows whether the key is in the ignition or not. I ams sure ti also get used to switch the light off once the key is in the ignition. I will check out the operation and confirm this or not.

Thanks for the good work here guys.

    Default carefull

    Hi guys,

Please be carefull, and maybe somebody should speak to Suzuki.

It is possible that more than just the buzzer has been disabled.

I am thinking some ECU functions and safety features (airbags? etc). Legal/safety implications??

    Cheers

I'm not worried at all. Those wires is for the buzzer only. Even the "feature" that switches off the interior light when you push the key in the ignition still works.

There is a small switch on the side of the ignition that switches the buzzer on and off when the ignition is turned, its only these wires that gets disconnected.

Its like removing the switch in the door that switches the interior lights on and off, its got no influence on any electronics of the car.

BUT if you are unsure about this mod, then rather do not do it!

    Default Good

    Hi,

If you saying that the wire is just a simple connection between the ignition and a physical buzzer. Well that sounds OK to me then.

    cheers

How sure are you? I'm not second guesing and am sure I'm also going to pull the plug but still do make sure, if anyone are planning to go to the workshop or maybe have the wiring diagram.

As most of any switches in the car you will notice only use one lead as the body and or any other metal surface are the negative point in the connection. Thus making me think why the second wire?? Just a thought, I doubt it will effect airbags or anything majors but there might be two things running from that plug instead of only the buzzer.....

Won't hurt if someone checks with the workshop when there.
