Default What Tyres for Discovery TDV6 S?

I need to replace the tyres on my Disco TDV6S and definitely do NOT want the original tyres. It seems you have to go to 255/65 size to get any alternative and it seems commonplace. I am considering Bridgestone Dueler D694's but wwould appreciate some feedback from anyone that has gone this route. They are obviously great off road but I would like feedback on road noise and comfort on road and also wear rate. The salesman at TWT told me because they have large blocks they will wear unevenly on the inside (similar to thew way my original Good Year's wore on the inside but only much faster - he said within 10,000km). I am sceptical as I think he was trying to sell me Hankook's. So any feedback on Bridgestone or anything else anyone is really impressed with will be most welcome before I go spend more than R10K! I assume I will have to also buy a larger spare if I go larger because the tyres have to be identical.

    Default Tyre Options

Personal opion about the Duelers are that they have great on-road traction and give above ave milage, not my first choice off-road though. I had a set on my previous Hilux and found them below average off-road (Mud & Sand) If you are however worried about road noise you are definately limiting yourself to a A/T type tread pattern because anything else will cause some degree of road noise. Other options to consider = Michellin LTX A/T2, Yokohama At/-S 265/65HR17 and Pirelli Scorpion AT. I would personally spend the extra money and invest in BF Goodrich AT (the only 3-ply sidewall A/T tyre) 265X70X17
