    Default 4x4 "4L" light flashing

Does anyone know of someone who knows what goes on with the 4x4 system on the K300 D-MAX in Port Elizabeth.
Namely that the "4L" light flashes continuously no matter what I select on the 4x4 panel.
I have given up trying to fix it myself

Just quickly checking: When the 4L Flashes, your vehicle is in Neutral and your clutch and brake pressed in and pushing the 4L Button again, does it flash slower and engage 4L or not?

I found on my Auto if my 4L light flashes, I did something wrong and after I got into Neutral, press on the brakes and press 4L again, which after it engages 4L and I can go back to 4H and onwards to 2H.

    Hi Sniper,
I have tried everything, brake on, clutch in pushing all the buttons at once, but nothing works. When one of the buttons is pushed the "4L" light flashes faster, and the system goes into what I have selected. It goes into 4h or 4l and back to 2l with no problem, but it does not indicate 4x4 or what I have selected, the "4L" light flashes continuously. So no closes to the problem.

If you say the system goes into what you have selected and it goes into 4H, 4L and 2L, then it seems all ok, or is it only physically swithing to 4x4 and not indicating on the dash? 4H - indicates 4x4 High Range and 4L indicates 4x4 Low Range. When going back to 2H, which you say it does, does the 4L still flash?

It sounds like you just need a quick reset at GM if it still goes into the 4x4 mode you want?

try the reset in the manual, manuals are wealth of knowledge on new cars with all sorts of tricks in the small print. if that doesnt work the agent should be prepared to plug it in to the computer and find out what the error code is. they dont normally charge for doing a reset or similar.

lights flash for all sorts of reasons on modern cars, to make you get them plugged in and the error code checked. for example, if both brake light bulbs are burnt out on a polo, the engine management light comes on, to make you skrik and go straight to the agent. its not always directly related.
