Default Jurgens Xplorer 4x4 Caravan Q's

    Hi all,

We are currently looking around to see what is available in the 4x4 caravan market and the SWAMBO loves the Xplorer over all other vans, so we have decided to look around casually for a good nick used one.

After speaking to a few people (as always, the guys that also manufacture in competition with Jurgens) say that the fiberglass on the Xplorer cracks, I have looked at a few Xplorer's and the only one with a small crack on the front looks like it may have been from a low branch, and the crack was next to the top "driving" lights.

Has anyone with an Xplorer experienced this?
Are there any other things I need to look out for on the Xplorer/things that I can expect to need repair...

    Answers will be greatly appreciated.

    Geoff

Never heard of that. I think that is sales talk.....I have a 5 year old Xcape that is built in a similar way to the Xplorer and have not seen or heard anything like that when I was looking.

The only thing I would worry about is wood rot but generally the Xplorers were well looked after and in all my searching I only saw one that I thought may have had wood rot above one of the side windows.

Never heard or seen that, but mine seldom sees a dirt road. I only had to strenthen the supports of the table top where it form the base of the D/Bed. They were attached with tiny selftappers. No problems in three years, exept that it is a pain to fill the watertank due to overspilling. If you buy a 2007 plus model, make sure that the wheelbearing recall has been done.
