Terracan 3.5 V6 Auto dash alarm light

    Default Terracan 3.5 V6 Auto dash alarm light

    OK,

    so the Can is acting a bit funny in the sence of the A/T light in the dash flash some times and don't go off. Then when driving it kicks a little bit hard every time it changes gear....but not always. If you stop and go do shopping and come back it's ok. Other times it does it when it is cold and other times when it's hot....and it has more than enough oil in. Actually too much but the can will be going in for a service in this week. It has 135 000 km on the clock.

    Any ideas on what it could be?

    No, not yet. I had to postpone the service till Thursday 22 July......

    I also thought I had enough lube in box as it showed ok on stick. Had similar probs after my CAN was in for repairs after smash. One needs to make sure you measure the "stick" properly here and follow what they say in manual. I found out I was WAY low on juice in box when taken to Willem. Once topped up all was fine.

    The can is going in tomorrow for a 120 000km service. That is the FULL fluid change serevice and Hyundai quoted me about R4800-00 for it. That is all lubes changed, engine, gearbox, transfercase, front and back diff, brake fluid and power steering fluid. The previous owners had it serviced by an independent and I'm just cauteous.

    I would rather change ALL the fluids and make sure it's done than to replace a diff, gearbox or something expensive.....

    Insidently, they quoted me about R1550-00 for the 135 000km service, which is not to bad for a stealer's price.

    On my return from the Berg, I also noticed that the auto box kicks back very noticible! Strange, the service schedule from Hyundai stipulates that the A/T fluid must never be changed. I'm going to top it up through the dipstick tube then.

    Louis very wise as I was so worried when mine started playing up. Pull away a robot was no fun engine wined, gearbox thought about it and then bang into gear with tyres churning Was not good for box. Glad I could sort it out with a good lube up to max levels. This happened 18months ago and since then ALL's great. Roman, could be right at that price, must check my manual as to what gets serviced. Good call to get everything done after a independent did the job, very wise. Makes you feel safer, hey

    I'm majorly pissed off with Hyundai..... They never had the oils for the front diff, back diff or the A/T in stock and will I have to take the Can back on Tuesday for the lube change.....plus after the W/ Soccor, they 'accidently' send the palm reader back to Jo'burg that they were supposed to use to re-code my 2nd key....

    LouisXander, what do you mean that the A/T fluid should never be changed Offcourse do you have to changed it, even if it is a synthetic oil, bacteria still set in plus it does burn after a few years of use.....
