Why on earth would you want to go the spitronics setup, the GEMs is a solid relaible system only let down by bad tampering like messing with the airflow setting

If its heavy on fuel replace the ETC sensor (R380) and check MAF setting, also confirm fuel rail pressure, weak coil can aslo play a role here as to is a incorrect voltage to ignition

Just to get this right, what is the correct resistor for the za market then? Is it the Red wire, 180 ohms, Australia, Rest of world or is it the Green wire, 470 Ohms, UK and Europe - non catalyst. Does a higher resistance equate to a hevier fuel usage or is it the other way around?

I would recommend the green 470 Ohm tune resistor.

"Rest of World" means: "Lets run the engine so rich that even the crappiest fuel will not cause warranty claims." - well, that's what I think it means....
