What was the cause Riaan? I suspect my diesel filter might be clogged due to dirty fuel but not sure if that would trigger the engine light. Initially I only experienced loss of power with no light, then the light came on a bit later. Also, if I switched the car off for a while I could drive a few minutes before going into limp mode again but the engine light stays on from startup.

I had an SCV problem when I bought the vehicle three years ago that cost the dealer I bought from a pretty penny. But back then I could remove the warning light temporarily by doing the quick ECU reset as advised by the local Mitsubishi branch but not even that would do the trick today...

To make it worse my indy is departing for a weekend of racing in Pietersburg tomorrow morning at 9 so hope he can find the fault quickly

Do you have an OBD adapter to read the fault? They are fairly affordable if you have a smartphone to use it with. Maybe a blocked or dirty MAP or MAF sensor?

    Hi All

Getting gatvol for searching for the cell phone in the car, sun burning the suck-on holder units, the vent ones rattle after two months, etc. I tried something.
Got a magnetic airvent holder. I like the idea of the vent keeping the phone cool and made a plan.

Dismantled the dash to get to the back of the round black knock-out other side of the flasher button. It is actually a screw-on square from the back.
I took an old camera swivel bracket and mounted it from the back after drilling through the round portion. Fitted nicely and is very securey fit.

Modified the magnetic base to screw onto the swivel and wow, impressed at the result.

    Took it to the gym.!

Drove around on the sand roads here in Midrand during lunch break. Tested high and low range, center and rear diff locks.
Tested hard braking with and without ABS on.

Kicked up a lot of dust....

    All appears ok.

Took mine for its 40 000 km service. Guys say the brake pads are not completely worn yet but I need to bring it back at 45 000 to have then replaced. Nice to inconvenience the customer for cost saving. Or they did not have time. They should come to me!!

Anyway saw these pretty little ladies standing around ready to be bought. Five of them!

Hey Riaan last time when I took my Previous PS for a service they had to keep it for 2 days to do something, can't quite remember what. I chirped that if they had any sense they would loan me a Paj. Guess what. There it stood in all its glory, mine for 2 days!

Well I was hooked lined and sinkered but could not do anything about it at that time But I knew I wanted one.

So yesterday I was given a loan car for the day. And they gave me a ASX.

Anyway I had many errants to run so did not ask for a test drive. I actually was scared I might do something irrational!

To answer your question it looks, well different but modern. Having seen pictures I was prepared for that silly looking bum. Looks kinda grow on me. Seating extremely comfy, small steering wheel looks odd but feels right. Dash layout easy on the eyes. Doors close very nicely but handles feel plastic. Huge inside. 2.4l engine worries me.

I now feel sorry for not making a plan. But then again me walking around there for a good 15 minutes and not one Sales "Executive" bothered to show interest.

Makes you think about times being tough.

Maybe they know me too well by now. "Here comes Steyn again. Stay away from him he just wants good service and we can't give him that"

    Oh well......

Changed the front diff and transfer case oils. Really battled to loosen the filler and drain plugs as King Kong had tightened them and rounded the edges off.

Going to get to rear diff another weekend (same problem with the drain plug)

That Oil was pretty black, so I'm glad i did it .

Booked my boy in at the steelers to try and get him running properly again. Prognosis so far not so good, this might turn out to be an very expensive day If they call you saying that selling the vehicle to them might be an alternate option you know you have a problem

Its in the President Park area. (see map) The locals are probably watching out for me. But seriously a speeding car probably kicks up more dust than i did.

The sand roads just allow for one to drive some distance in low range with diffs locked..

Visited my Triton 'in hospital'. Wish I had medical aid cover So far a new SCV and new lift pump has been fitted but he's still not running. Injectors out already and fuel pump to follow for test/reconditioning. During stripping it was found that the timing belt is showing signs of wear so that's going to be done as well...

I currently go by two names, Carlos and Poorman

Helped Daughter move to new house in the Natal Midlands.
The PS is made for those D roads or perhaps the D roads are made for that Vehicle. I'm sure the PS raised its suspension in anticipation of the upcoming mud bath (or I got shorter).

In any event had lots of fun driving around in the mud and slush after the heavy rains. Very thankful for 4WD (4H). I did not disengage it until the Ultra city at Escourt on the way home.
Returned 9l/100km on the run down and up (towing a 5 foot trailer), obviously more while carting goods between PMB and Balgowan.

Only issue is that the SRS light came on (before the rough roads). Possibly I have dislodged a connector slightly as my seat was pushed forward a bit to accommodate a single bed base and other stuff under the seats. Hope its not dreaded clock spring.

Had PAJTU to my Indie expecting the worst after the beating that was dished out at Clarens.

The bicycle bell was fixed inside the steering column, the front bumper had a dent pushed out and re fixed and a side step was straightened out, all for the sum of 1200 Randelas. Good mechanic this bloke.
Lusted for a Landy but the Pajero was sexier and bigger in the right departments, just like my Missus.
