could easily happen to anyone. you can drive fast in the dunes and they have a nasty habit of springing a little surprise on you from time to time.

biggest problem is visibility - you just can't see lumps and bumps until you are right on them - it's all the same colour and at midday there is no shadow to give away a drop or hump, and then there's a loud bang from the suspension as it bottoms.. and if you are unlucky you do more damage.

I personally don't drink WHILE I'm playing - afterwards, yes! but quite honestly I can't really see a problem with a guy having a beer or two during the afternoon in between playing. especially while digging out sand if you got stuck!!! It's totally reprehensible to have had 1/2 a case though - you are going to hurt yourself, and more likely - someone else...

    Hence no angry face!

My take on it: I drink very little, if anything ever, maybe at a braai, but if I rolled my bakkie like that I'll need something strong to calm me down!!

Toe gaan ry ek die weskus roete, ek het lekker my allie gesien teen daardie see sand duine.

    Default Facts

After carefully studying the pictures I have come to the following conclusions which I hereby declare as factual,

    1. All Isuzu drivers are reckless, inconsiderate drunkards
    2. All NC drivers are reckless, inconsiderate drunkards
    3. All drivers with any type of ARB product on their vehicle are reckless, inconsiderate drunkards
    4. I can't see the tyre manufacturers name but if someone can tell me from the tread pattern what tyres are used (educated guesses will be deemed good enough) then all drivers with these tyres are reckless, inconsiderate drunkards

Based on the clothing of the bystanders all of the above can also be considered to be racist or at least racist sympathisers.

By logical conclusion all of the above may (I know I am dangerous ground here) even have considered at some time doing a recovery using their towball.

I apologise if I may inadvertently offended someone but facts are facts and sometimes they need to be put out there for the greater good.

Ps. Soos my signature sê like ek my hond, maar nie 'n hond of drank hoort op die strand nie.. hulle maak altwee net die selfde ding daar..

Well, I managed to find out what happened.
    Lets just say the following:

Wall of death and tempting fate by crawling up the dune.....
There was alcahol involved. (reliable source that was there)

Now, can these people be banned from using the dunes.

I know I am opening a can of worms, can this be discussed in a civil matter.

At the end of the day I want to enjoy the dunes and it seems that the few are spoiling it for the rest.

Interesting thread this, if you look at the first photo there is a beer bottle of sorts lying on the ground. Litterbugs or was it thrown from the back.

I think the guy on the propshaft is trying to rescue someone that is still inside.

Strange how we all jump to conclusions hey.

Having said all what we have said may I suggest that you be sensitive on what photo's you paste about AD. Sometimes we are our own worst enemies, I have seen photo's of people around a braai etc... All innocent but still not allowed.

Mistakes happen in all sports, sometimes rugby players push their fingers in peoples eyes and the whole world condemm them, then the next year the same player is been considered for Bok Captain. It happens, lets not crucify everyone that makes a mistake.

Sounds very similar to the guy that drowned his 4x2 in a dam last year.

NOW is all about self regulating so that we are allowed to go into sensitive area's. I think AD is the same we must set good examples and frown upon abusing it....so that we can enjoy it for years too come.

Husband goes playing with mates, when questioned by his wife swears blind that he only went to the shop, a dog run into the road and he swerved to avoid hitting it but landed in a ditch on the side of the road. Lets stick to the story.
