    Default New i-X35 Hyundai

I see the power comes to 130kw and 392nm of torque, but it is lower and longer than the Tucson, so just a pavement hopper.

But at 6.4lt/100km really not so bad, but comes in really near to the Fortuner at R369k for the 4x4 version.

my bro-in-law went to test drive one of them...power, luxury and build quality was up there...but as you said it's a pavement special. Ideal for a mom's taxi i quess. It looks good too.

Overpriced in my opinion. BUT looks the part. For that price I would expect LR

I agree with LouisXander. I Love the shape, looks and interior and the engine specs is very impressive but like Morton said, needs LR and some decent ground clearance...

I would still buy one because I WILL NEVER buy a Fortuner.... I can always take the V6 Can off of swambo's hands and buy her the i-X35....

I think it would be nice as a daily driver and maybe a camping vehicle, but a proper off roader it surely is not. So if you already have a Pajero, Land Cruiser, Land Rover, Jeep etc. This could make a nice work car, or car for the wife (as stated by offroad junky

Looks like a real soft roader, nice for Mommy but I still wouldn’t encourage climbing pavements, the wheel alignment might not handle it, don’t get me wrong my wife drives a Hyundai so nothing against it, actually a nice looking car, just I think it would drop its load of fuel if it saw a real 4x4.

    Default Tuscon wannabee

The new iX35 is not a Tuscon, its a road version thereof. The Tuscon was never a great off road vehicle (I know! drove one for a year until I parked it on its roof.)

The New version has given up all pretences of even being an off road vehicle, they are no longer even marketing it as a SUV. It's now a Multi purpose crossover vehicle or some such thing.

I detest fortuners, but would proudly own one before I bought the iX35.
