Op 80 000km is my clutch vervang sonder enige koste.

Maak nie vir my sin nie?

Hi Arno007, a normal dry plate clutch like fitted to most manual box vehicles is only able to transmit 100% of the torque that the engine puts out, also during slipping. A torque converter on an automatic box can multiply the torque, typically up to 2.5 times at stall torque. Stall torque is when the wheels are not turning and the engine is revving and producing max torque.

I am not a specialist in clutches, but quess that a stronger clutch will have a larger area typically due to larger OD. This will make it more able to transfer the torque during prolonged slipping without overheating.

I've also witnessed and heard horror stories about clutches burning on the Ford Ranger and Mazda BT50 3.0l diesel engines.

What will happen if you fit this thing with a decent, solid competition clutch. It will be a bit fiddly to get a smooth pull off, but that can be learnt. Would also go the distance.

    Default Clutch

My Pathfinder se 4de clutch begin nou gly.

Ek is moedeloos.

Ditto what Henris says if an when mine goes that will be my first route. Solid is better but less refined.

Back in the chiptuning days, we used to get what we called "clutch friendly" chips / maps and non friendly ones.

Nissan doesn't affect the peak figures they have made the mapping more gradual the difference shouldn't be noticeable, if it is have it checked. It's also supposedly remapped for 1st gear not the rest.
