Default Crossing the Botswana Border - Limpopo in Flood...

    Hi guys

Can anyone please advise the best border post to use to get into Botswana? We are going to Tuli this coming weekend and were planning to cross at Pontdrift, but I believe the Limpopo is running bank-to-bank.

    Any advice would be great!

Jan leeu, jou enigste opsie is martins drif, al langs die rivier op tot bo by tuli blok, die ander het almal net laagwater brue, dalk kan Henris meer inligting gee, hy bly in Mussina.

We crossed Pontdrift over the Easter weekend, water was about 2ft high. The manager at Tuli lodge said when it rains, Pontdrift is the only way out. Other access roads out of the Tuli block are impassable during heavy rains.

The Limpopo apparently drops quickly, if it hasn't rained for a few days, it will be low enough to drive accross.

Normally the Limpopo (western side of Mussina) is safe after three days.

They have had huge rains so make sure you have a back up plan or you'll be going across in the two person cable car - not sure that your car will fit in there hahaha

    Hi Jan-Leeu

Best ever crossing is before Groblersbrug turn North on the R572 and take the Plat Jan Border post.
