Hi and welcome to the forum,

So, is Mahindra SA nothing more than a trading house with no or very little after sales support. I'm in the process of buying a 4x4 Scorpio SUV and wouldn't like to think that I'm gonna have problems sourcing parts.
Piet: '80 Ford F250 4x4
Cummins 6BT engine, ZF S5-42 box
Meraai: Mahindra Scorpio SUV 4x4
EGR blocked
Granny steps removed
Nitro ring & pinion
Eaton Detroit Locker
Free flow exhaust
I dont think they are just a trading house, no manufacturer gets involved supporting and supplying after market (Pirate) parts, the demand in the market related to the amount of vehicle sold will determine this, more vehicle sold... more aftermarket part will be available
Usually what I do is to take the old part to a spares shop and by checking the dimensions they can sometimes find a "pirate part" I agree with Navigator. No car manufacturer wants non genuine parts in their cars. But take a chance? Maybe some other manufacturer's clutch will fit like a charm!
I had the following parts that fit well on my 2.6.
Oil filter is normal GUD Z164 that is used on Isuzu diesel bakkies or Donaldson P550158. Diesel Cutt of solenoid is a normal Isuzu solenoid. Luckely my clutch is still ok. I will try to find out, maybe a reputable clutch manufacturer like LUK have the correct one for Mahindra??
Regards
Hi fellow Mahindrians,
So has anybody managed to find a pirate clutch for the Scorpio 2.6 yet. I went through some deep water on my way home 2 days ago and now the clutch shudders and 1st gear grinds when I try to engage it before comming to a complete stop.
Clutch has 130k km on it and feels as if it already had a hard life before I bought the car.
So I phoned around a bit. Luk has a clutch for the Scorpio part number LUK 451, but no one has stock. What does that help me. Valeo is busy trying to put a kit together. Dealers quoted me R3300 which is actualy not bad considering that Midas told me their last price on the LUK was R2700 excl.
The Scorpio takes a normal LUK clutch. When I replaced mine last year LUK was out of stock and had to buy from the dealer. Guess what...It came in a Mahindra box...and inside the Mahindra box was a...LUK box with a LUK clutch.
There are three clutches available from LUK on the Scorpio. 12, 16 and 21 spline. You will need to take yours to spares as sample. Try Autozone and Midas. The LUK clutch is about R1000 cheaper than the Mahindra LUK clutch.
Try and phone LUK Tel. +27 11 225 3000
See if they have stock.
try isuzu part numbers , a lot of mahindra parts are related to isuzu
cheers
LUK won't sell direct to public but they can tell if they have stock. Then ask your local spares store to order from LUK.
I think the 21 spline is exclusive for Mahindra Scorpio, the others are used on other cars as well-not 100% certain which is which.
Remember that the salesmen at the spares are not trained mechanics it is best to take the old part and phone the manufacturer directly to explain the part and get the part number. Try Parts Incorporated 0123771050 or
0118796000
