Hummer is a awesome machine. Went to local 4x4 trail in P.E with a friends dads hummer. He had not one bit of off roading experience but he cruized up and down every obstacle with ease. Standard version not the adventurer package. Been to same trail with better known machines and more experienced drivers and struggled alot more than that hummer.

I like em a lot. I had a demo off-road and was happy with how it worked. They seem to be holding their prices too

    Default Hummer H3 Owner

    I have a Hummer H3 3.7 Adventure spec!

Yes the Hummer wont suit everyone from my experiance and my honest opionion.

Negitives:-1.Sluggish On road especially when overtaking with the straight 5 engine V8 would be much better but much more expensive.
    2. Very Heavy on Fuel on a 90 liter tank expect 450 to 480 km'
    3. Plenty of blind spots especially behind you.

Positives :- 1.With the ultra low range ratio on the transfer case this is a formidable off road vehicle especially with a Diff lock working with the tracktion controll. I have owned many 4x4's for the last 20 yesrs and the Hummer is by far the best cabaple off road vehicle by far.
2.Supprisingly very quite and luxurios on road considering it has the earodynamics of a brick.
3.Towing is ok at speeds under 100kmh

conclusion:- The Hummer H3 comes into its own off road and imho I feel sad for the H3 when it gets all the bling some put on it!!! To me that would be like putting a winch on a Farari. This is a formidable off road vehicle and would go anywhere with the best of them stock standard out the factory.

Mods: I do have one Mod and that is the BFG 315/75/16 AT tyres which give another 1.5" ground clearence and a winch!

We just had one on course with us and I must admit I was impressed with the off road ability. I was however supprised to see it had tortion bar front suspension with leaf's at the back, I always thought it had coils all round. It did not stand back for any vehicle however and impressed all who were there. Would I buy one, well no, I dont like the no visibility factor. Mechanically it was to me just fine but what about spares in the future, only time will tell. I think if it had been given a better chance we would have seen a lot more around.

Just an update for any other Hummer drivers on the reliability of the H3 I now have 180000km on the clock without any issues thus far. It works hard and loves the dirt!, Read some posts on hummerforums.com with H3's on 189000 miles so its starting to look as if these beasts seem to be proving to be quite reliable, even though like any other vehicle there will allways be problems with some of them.

Well, Hummer will always be my choice. I love my truck. All I want and need. Drove a couple of 4x4s and would never smash the different brands but if you want my oppinion, my H3 3.7L 5s Adventure Auto outperform all of them.

    Just great fun.

Used to be plenty back in the day we took it off line and onto a private group both on Facebook and on whatsapp. As for the services gm bruma, Fourways, menlan are just a few of plenty gm dealers who service these vehicles.
