Unhappy Water in e-box, damage to transfer case ecu

    Hi,

Has anyone had a similar problem with water damage to the ecu, behind the battery box, we had a heavy downpour of rain, small hail as well, after which general suspension failure. (blown ECU, blown pump, burnt relay and blown fuse had to be replaced)

My D3 is out of warrantee, and it cost a packet to fix, nothing I did or didn't do, caused the damage ?? I think LR should pick up the bill for this one.

    Default ECU Water Damage

We had a problem with the ECU getting water damaged from a car wash, happened before we bought it. Replaced the unit for R3100.00 including labour.

It didnt affect anything else on the car although it needed to be reprogrammed for the suspension and related items to work again.

So why don't you sell yours.

To "tregie", yep it is a known point of "weakness" in the D3. JLR I do not think has ever issued a recall for that, so chances are slim to get them to acknowledge that there is a problem.

If you really want to, you can speak with their client service department, or your Indie and see if you can submit a (goodwill) claim.

    Good luck.

AND NO I DID NOT CHECK THE DATE of the original post
