    C172 nice plane, the OC of SQN 111 has a C177, but my fav plane is a Jab430

    My favourite aircraft is a C-130 Hercules, I've got 1550 hours as Navigator on it. I guess my hobby is also my job...

    Also just started, only got 8 hours in a C172. Need to take time off to finish it though.

    Microlighting - I own a Bushbaby

    used to fly trikes..... got too cold and changed to fixed wing.
    can't beat the open air flying in summer though.

    I've been a passenger on a trike. It was like a bloody rollercoaster. Not my cup of tea. There was quite a bit of turbulence. Don't know if it's always like that.

    And landing is interesting. Coming in at an angle with the pilot having to swerve straight as soon as the wheels touch. All this while steering the front wheel with his feet like a toy go-cart.

    Nah. I'll stick to other stuff.

    I don't wanna ruin your fun, but after flying in real aircraft, there's no way I'm getting in one of those microlight jobbies. Even when we do training on the C-208 Cessna Caravan, it feels a bit small to me, but that's about the smallest I'd go...

    I know enough to be scared...

    Maybe - but I'd just go a short way up the West Coast road, and go fly an Astra. Rated for +7 and -3G, and the best part is there is an ejection seat for if something goes wrong...
